Mushroom French dip sandwiches

2–4 onions, sliced thin
1 pound mushrooms, sliced
1 tablespoon minced garlic
2 cups water
2 tablespoons nutritional yeast
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/8 teaspoon pepper
salt to taste
8 sandwich buns

Sauté onions in a little water and cook as long as you have time, preferably until they are caramelized. Add garlic and mushrooms. Add remaining ingredients. Simmer until mushrooms are cooked.

Serve on buns, with broth for dipping.
